What is a card?

A card is the most flexible way to take notes. It can contain images, equations, maths, code and more! Cards have a soft-limit of 1200 characters to encourage you to break down your knowledge into more manageable pieces – which easier to organise, read and share. You may overflow for longer content, but try to keep things brief!

How many cards do I get free?

On the free plan you start with 100 cards that you can earn by completing challenges – they are relatively easy and help you learn the basics of Supernotes. If you need more, you can refer friends for additional cards or upgrade to the Unlimited plan.

Supernotes is all about sharing, and suddenly you may find yourself with 1000s of cards. Don't worry, not all of these cards contribute towards your card limit, only cards that are of interest to you 'keep'. You 'keep' a card if you interact with it, such as creating, joining, liking or editing it. Simple.

What happens if I reach my limit?

You can still view, edit and interact with all of the cards you have 'kept', but you can no longer create, like or join new cards. Make sure you've completed your challenges, to earn more free cards, these help you learn the basics of Supernotes. You can also increase your limit by referring your friends, or upgrading to the paid plans.

Why should I pay for Supernotes?

Supernotes is designed, developed and maintained by a small passionate team. Think of it like your local independent coffee shop, it might be more expensive than Starbucks, but you know the money is going to a good place. Supernotes is built with love, care and attention to detail. And your subscription helps fund us so we can focus on building and maintaining Supernotes full-time – we are funded entirely by your subscriptions and don't sell your data or show you ads.

Why do prices differ slightly between region and platform?

We're based in London, UK. Stripe transactions are charged in Great British Pound, but we accept most currencies and payment types. To give you an better understanding of our prices, we've automatically converted the prices using today's exchange rates.

Apple App Store and Google Play Store transactions are fixed and charged in your chosen currency. Prices may vary due to exchange rates, taxes and plan availability may vary by region or platform.

Do you offer price localisation / purchasing parity?

We are a small independent company and operating a UK business incurs a lot of UK costs, so unfortunately we are unable to offer localised pricing at this time. However once we start to grow and become more international, we will definitely look into supporting this as we can appreciate the huge difference this can make!

What does Priority Support get me?

We are a small team, but we will do our best to respond to your questions as soon as possible. If you are on the Unlimited Yearly plan or 4-Year license, we will prioritise your questions and try to respond within 24 hours – even on evenings and weekends. If you are on the Starter or Unlimited Monthly plans, we will still try to respond within 24 hours, but we may take a little longer.

Do you plant four trees with the 4-Year plan?

Supernotes is here for the long-term, and by purchasing our long-term 4-year plan we will plant 4 trees on your behalf – as a little thanks to you and the planet 🌳. We are partnered with Ecologi to plant trees in Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, Cambodia, Brazil and Colombia.

How do referrals work?

Every person you refer will receive an extra 20 cards. If you are on the free Starter plan you will receive an extra 20 cards as well. However if you are on the Unlimited plan and refer a lot of friends, we will be in touch with free goodies! There has never been a better time to upgrade.

I have a referral / promo code?

Nice one! Sign up and then redeem it. You can only be referred once, but you can refer as many friends as you like.

Do you offer a student discount?

Yes, we offer a generous discount for students. Receive 50% off with the Student Yearly plan, or 63% off with the Student 4-Year plan (compared to the standard monthly price).

To redeem sign up with a valid .edu or .ac.uk email address, and the student discount will be automatically applied to your account. Alternatively you can send us a message using the in-app messenger with proof of your student status and we will apply the discount for you!

With the introduction of the Student 4-Year Plan we have discountinued our Student Monthly plan, anyone on this plan will be grandfathered in and will continue to pay at the same rate.

How is the payment being processed?

If you purchase a Supernotes subscription directly through us, we use Stripe as our payment processor. They handle all of our payments, receipts and store your credit card details securely. So if you see Stripe on your receipt do not worry!

Alternatively, if you purchase a Supernotes subscription through the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, your payment will processed by that provider.

What happens if my payment fails?

For example, an expired credit card. Your chosen payment processor, Stripe, Apple or Google, will retry your payment method, multiple times if necessary. If your payment method does not suceed after a week you will be downgraded to the free plan.

Can I change my payment method?

Yes of course, please go to 'Manage Subscription', and it will guide you through the process.

Can I cancel my subscription?

We are sorry to see you go! At any time you may cancel your subscription to the Unlimited Plan. Just go to the Unlimited plan in your Billing settings, and click 'Cancel Subscription'. If you paid for your subscription using the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, please see this guide for more info. You will still have the Unlimited plan until the end of your billing cycle.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, we offer a 14-day money back guarantee, just let us know via the in-app messenger or via email within 14 days of your purchase. For more details please read our full refund policy. If you are having issues with Supernotes we prefer to help you resolve them before a refund, so please get in touch and we will help you as best we can.
